A Note from the EditorNotes for the Grown UpsDear Reader,
Every day, you move through a world that has been designed.
Someone decided how tall the chair should be.
What shape a door handle takes.
How a classroom is arranged.
Even how this page is laid out.
Most of the time, we don't notice these decisions—they're just part of the background of life. But design shapes how we move, what we notice, and sometimes, even what we think is possible. Eggi is a magazine about looking a little closer at those decisions.
In these pages, you'll meet artists, designers, thinkers, and makers who help us understand the objects, spaces, and systems that shape girls' lives. Sometimes we'll look at things that seem small—a pair of glasses, a pocket, the way hair is shaped and held. Other times we'll look at big ideas—friendship, confidence, power, or creativity.
You don't have to be an expert to think about design. You just need a little bit of curiosity. Girls are perceptive and imaginative. They ask thoughtful questions and see the world differently than adults do. That's the simple idea behind Eggi: girls deserve to be part of the conversation about how the world is made.
People made it. Which also means people—maybe even you—can remake it.
